Principal's Message

Noboborsho to all Students of the school, their Parents, the school’s well wishers and Alumni !

It’s fortunate that on this, the New Year Day for the people of this wonderful part of country where I have been privileged to be called to serve, that I write my first public message to you !

We have recently commenced the new academic year and I begin by expressing our gratitude to Bro A Pinto, who had served this wonderful school for the last two years. We are appreciativeof his role in leading the school during this period. Bro Pinto took over immediately after the lockdown was lifted and he has led the school back to full “normalcy”. Thank you, Bro Pinto and may the Divine continue to bless you in your life and ministry.

Thank you to the staff, students, Parents and those connected with the school, for your warm welcome to me and for your cooperation and friendliness.

I particularly welcome our newly admitted students to Nursey, KG and to the various other classes. I remind students who have been in the school that it is your responsibility to welcome and make these students feel ‘at home’ – transition is always challenging and we depend of others to initiate us lovingly and caringly into the traditions of St Joseph’s.

Our first student led assembly was conducted by Class 8B. Their theme was “SJC – PRIDE” and they remined us of key characteristics of those at St Joseph’s : Positivity, Respectfulness, Individuality (Uniqueness), Dutiful, Enthusiastic. Thank you Class 8B to bringing these characteristics to our attention as we commence the academic year.

Our ICSE and ISC batches have completed their examinations and we await the results in the very near future.

The students of the ICSE batch will commence their class XI o the 24th May and we wish them every success in these, their final two years at the school.

Our best wishes are with current class X’s and class XII’s as they embark on the very short academic year leading to their Board examinations.

Two of our teachers : Ms Soma Sur and Ms Shamane Sequeira shall be retiring in the month May. They have spent 21 years and 10 years years in the school respectively. On behalf of all the students they have taught, all the staff who worked with them, all the Brothers and Principals they worked with, I thank them for their devoted years of service. St Joseph’s is what it is, thanks to the role they played. Thank you, teachers.

On the co-curricular front, we are looking forward to our students taking part in various competitions (cultural and games) within the city and beyond. We hope that all the practise and training in school brings us results which we can be proud of.

Please refer to the school website (and for our present students and their parents to the E-Care app) for updates on the all which is happening in the school.

May the Divine bless us all – “Virilter age”
Bro Larry Miranda
Principal
